Cooking for Peanuts: Homemade Nutty Granola

For this weeks Cooking for Peanuts we have created an easy homemade granola that is full of goodness.

Did you known that supermarket granola brands can contain up to 30g of sugar per serving! That is why we thinking making homemade granola is best, so you know exactly what's inside.

Our Sea Salted Good Nuts helps to add naturally plant sourced protein and fibre.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of oats
  • 2/3 cups of Real Handful Sea Salted Good Nuts (chopped)
  • 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup flaked almonds
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips

Recipe:

  1. Set your oven to 180 to pre-heat. Then line a baking tray with baking paper, set aside for later.
  2. Next melt together peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, vanilla, salt and cinnamon (you can use a microwave for 10 second intervals, stirring in-between).
  3. Add oats and Real Handful Sea Salted Peanuts to the wet mixture and stir well. This is your granola!
  4. Spread granola mixture on baking sheet and put in the oven for 25 minutes. Stir after 10 minutes to reduce any burning.
  5. Once golden remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Now add flaked almonds and chocolate chips and stir well so its evenly mixed.
  7. Finally store Homemade Nutty Granola in an air tight container for up to 1 month.
